Black Friday Shipping Deadline from India: 2026 Planner
Black Friday 2026 is on 27 November. Fixed dates, what carriers have published, US customs after de minimis, and a week-by-week plan from India.
Checked: 2026-10-22
If you sell abroad online, the Black Friday shipping deadline from India is not one date. It depends on your carrier, your service, US customs, and holidays in both countries. This guide gives the 2026 dates that are fixed, says plainly what carriers have and have not published, and gives you a week-by-week plan to work back from your own carrier's cut-off. It is for Indian sellers doing ecommerce exports on Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Walmart or their own website.
When is Black Friday 2026?
- Thanksgiving (US): Thursday 26 November 2026, a US federal holiday (OPM).
- Black Friday: Friday 27 November 2026, the day after Thanksgiving.
- Cyber Monday: Monday 30 November 2026.
- Christmas Day: Friday 25 December 2026 (US and UK).
- UK Boxing Day bank holiday: Monday 28 December 2026, a substitute day because 26 December is a Saturday (GOV.UK).
Holidays at the India end matter for pickups and paperwork. Both of these are on the Government of India's 2026 gazetted holiday list:
- Diwali: Sunday 8 November 2026
- Guru Nanak's Birthday: Tuesday 24 November 2026, three days before Black Friday
In the UAE, National Day is 2 December. Check the official holiday announcement for the days off around it.
Have carriers published 2026 holiday cut-offs from India?
Not yet, as of 22 October 2026. We found no last-shipping dates for India-origin parcels to the US, UK or UAE from DHL Express India, FedEx India, UPS India or India Post. Holiday dates you see online are mostly for parcels starting in the US.
Carriers also do not publish one standard transit time from India. It depends on your pickup PIN code, the destination and the service, and you get it from each carrier's quote tool:
- DHL Express India: Get a quote
- FedEx India: holiday schedule
- UPS India: holiday shipping schedule
- Aramex India: aramex.com/in
- India Post and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (post office export counters): indiapost.gov.in
Until cut-offs are published, ask your account manager or courier partner for two things in writing: the last pickup date for delivery before 27 November, and the last pickup date for delivery before 25 December, for each destination. We will update this page when carriers publish their dates.
How does US customs work now that de minimis has ended?
The US duty-free limit for low-value parcels (de minimis, earlier $800) has been suspended for all countries since 29 August 2025. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) made the suspension indefinite for courier and other non-postal shipments from 24 June 2026 and for postal parcels from 24 July 2026 (Federal Register). Every parcel to a US buyer now goes through a customs entry and pays duty.
What this means for your holiday plan:
- Every parcel needs an entry. Shipments valued at $2,500 or less can use informal entry; higher values need formal entry. Your courier usually files the entry for you.
- Duty is due on every parcel. Since 24 July 2026, most goods of India pay an additional 10% duty under a US Section 301 action, on top of the normal duty for the product's tariff code. Some products are exempt (Federal Register).
- Clearance needs complete data. A wrong or missing 10-digit US tariff (HTS) code, a vague description or a wrong value can get a parcel held.
- Decide who pays duty. With DDP (delivered duty paid), you pay duty when you book and the buyer pays nothing at the door. With DAP (duty unpaid), the buyer pays duty and carrier charges on delivery, and may refuse the parcel. A refused parcel in December is hard to recover in time.
Neither carriers nor CBP publish a fixed number of days for clearance. Ask your carrier how many days it adds for your lane in peak season, and add that to the transit time from its quote tool.
For the UK and UAE, the rules are different, but your parcel still clears customs and import VAT or duty may apply. Ask your carrier which charges it collects and from whom.
How do you work out your own ship-by date?
Use this for each destination and service:
Ship-by date = target delivery date minus carrier transit days, minus customs days, minus holiday closures on the way, minus your own packing and pickup days
Run it for two targets: delivery by Thursday 26 November (so the parcel is with the buyer for Black Friday) and delivery by Thursday 24 December (Christmas). Then check the result against the Indian holidays above. If it falls on or near Guru Nanak's Birthday or a weekend, move it earlier.
If you sell through Amazon FBA, your deadline is earlier, because stock must reach Amazon's warehouse before the event. Amazon publishes its holiday inbound deadlines in Seller Central. Check them now: if your stock has not left India, ask your freight forwarder whether it can still arrive in time, or plan your FBA stock for Christmas instead.
Week-by-week plan for Black Friday and Christmas 2026
This week (from 19 October)
- Pick the products you will push for the holidays and count stock.
- Find and check the 10-digit US HTS code, and the UK and UAE codes, for each product.
- Confirm your GST LUT for 2026-27 is filed, so you can export without paying IGST.
Week of 26 October
- Ask each carrier, in writing, for peak-season cut-offs, transit days and customs days for each destination.
- Choose DDP or DAP for US orders. If DDP, check your carrier supports it from your pickup city.
- Recalculate prices with duty and peak shipping costs included.
Week of 2 November
- Plan dispatch around Diwali (8 November). Arrange packing material and any extra help before the festival week.
- Update listings: holiday processing time, shipping profiles, and a clear "order by" date for each country.
Week of 9 November
- Keep invoices, product descriptions and values ready for customs.
- Compare this week with the ship-by dates you worked out, especially on slower services.
Week of 16 November
- Ship all pending orders meant for Black Friday delivery.
- Check pickup arrangements for 24 November (Guru Nanak's Birthday).
Weeks of 23 and 30 November
- Black Friday (27 November) and Cyber Monday (30 November).
- Track every parcel in customs daily. Reply quickly to any carrier request for documents or duty payment.
Weeks of 7 and 14 December
- Christmas orders. Use the cut-offs your carrier gave you, not last year's.
- After your Christmas cut-off, update listings to show delivery after Christmas, so buyers are not misled.
Check your margins before the rush
Peak shipping rates, the extra 10% US duty and marketplace fees can turn a discount into a loss. Before you set Black Friday prices, run each product through the ecommerce fee and profit calculator with your courier quote and duty.
